Arthouse Alert: "The Social Network" in Philadelphia Monday (3/28)

Jay said it best: fame is the worst drug known to man.

None

The Social Network was arguably the most talked about film of 2010, all the way down to its Kanye-powered trailer. The Oscar-winning film has been out on DVD for a couple of months, but Philly’s legendary Trocadero Theatre wants to give you the cinematic experience once again as part of its Monday Movie series.

The doors open at 6:30, but the film starts at 8; there’s a special for anyone arriving before 7 that includes a free beer and a bag of popcorn. Otherwise, $3 goes toward a drink and getting you in the door to watch Jesse Eisenberg prove that you can’t buy swag. You’ll also get the chance to win tickets to see SCALA & Kolacny Brothers perform their haunting rendition of “Creep” first heard in the trailer at the Troc on April 26th.
