As if he didn’t destroy comic books enough with his campy performance as Mr. Freeze in the rubber nipple extravaganza Batman and Robin, Arnold Schwarzenegger is primed to jump back into the superhero genre with the announcement of his new comic series and cartoon show called The Governator. That's right—the title is The Governator.

“The word Governator combined two worlds: the world of politics and the movie world. And [this cartoon] brings everything together. It combines the governor, the Terminator, the bodybuilding world, the True Lies…” said Schwarzenegger.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Schwarzenegger will team up with legendary comic book creator Stan Lee for both properties. Lee is most famous for creating such iconic characters as Spider-Man, Daredevil, Thor, and a slew of other Marvel Comics characters.

“The Governator is going to be a great superhero, but he’ll also be Arnold Schwarzenegger,” Lee says of the semi-fictional character. “We’re using all the personal elements of Arnold’s life. We’re using his wife [Maria Shriver]. We’re using his kids. We’re using the fact that he used to be governor. Only after he leaves the governor’s office, Arnold decides to become a crime fighter and builds a secret high-tech crime-fighting center under his house in Brentwood.”

Along with combining some aspects of Schwarzenegger’s real life, The Governator will also include over-the-top vehicles and power suits that help the Governator lay down the law. But perhaps no part of this show sounds as spectacular as the fact that the main adversary of the Governator will be a criminal group named the Gangsters Imposters Racketeers Liars & Irredeemable Ex-cons, or G.I.R.L.I.E. Men for short.

We couldn’t make this stuff up even if we tried. But Schwarzenegger and Lee sure can.
