Angry Birds Raises $42 Million

The mobile gaming smash is making its once beleaguered founders rich.

Rovio, the folks that make Angry Birds, have just announced a funding  round of $42 million. That'll buy a lot of bird feed.

Investors include Silicon Valley titans like Accel Partners and Atomico Ventures, founded by two of the co-founders of Skype.

The incredible success of Angry Birds, the 52nd game developed by a near hopeless Rovio, remains one of the most compelling stories of the upstart potential of mobile gaming apps. No word on what the investing round says about Rovio's overall monetary value, but if they can at all replicate the success of Angry Birds, they could find themselves in good company.
