You Don't Have To Be A Super Nerd to Read Marvel Comics!

The company's Point One initiative gives new fans a great chance to read comics without getting lost.

In an effort to make comic books more accessible to a wider audience, Marvel is launching its new Marvel: Point One initiative designed to attract new readers to their books. Each of these Point One books will feature a popular character in a self-contained story that is designed to make it easier for new fans to pick up an issue without getting lost in years of back story. Marvel’s first Point One book, Invincible Iron Man #500.1, will be released this Wednesday. And while these issues are geared more towards the casual fan, Marvel is adamant that these issues will still be relevant for longtime readers.

The Point One initiative is another way that Marvel is adapting to the times in an ever-evolving comic book market (as opposed to giving characters hideous redesigns). So, if you have ever wanted to try reading comics but didn’t know where to start, these Point One issues would be a great place to begin.
