When film history books are written hundreds of years from now, Robert De Niro will undoubtedly warrant special distinction as one of cinema's all-time greats. There's no denying that. So how do you think it makes us feel having to condemn the man's recent paycheck-collection phase? We can't remember the last time a fresh De Niro performance didn't stink of performer's apathy. Put it this way: If some money-wielding producer asked De Niro to make yet another Meet The Parents sequel, despite the outpouring of vitriol spewed upon last year's Little Fockers, we're pretty sure he'd sign above the dotted line.
