Worst Performances: The Spirit (2008), Whiteout (2009)

It's no wonder that comic book icon Frank Miller has yet to direct a film since his debut, The Spirit, became the laughing stock of Hollywood immediately upon its Christmas 2008 release. What'd the guy expect? He handed over what could've been a franchise-starter to one Gabriel Macht, which was equivalent to grabbing a WASP-y guy out of a gym and handing him a movie contract. Driven home with his lifeless performance in the Kate Beckinsale-starring disaster Whiteout, Macht looks like a film star but has nothing in way of presence to back it up. Casper Van Dien should've sued him for identity theft.
