Rumor: BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet Will Run Android Apps

Will RIM and Google partner up in the tablet wars?

There was a rumor floating around that the upcoming BlackBerry PlayBook tablet would support Android's vast selection apps. Of course, this was taken with a grain of salt because, well, why would RIM look to one of its main competitors for help? Turns out there may be more truth to that claim that previously thought.

At the 2011 Mobile World Congress, a BlackBerry rep all but confirms that the PlayBook will run Android apps when he says: "we'll also support Android apps" in the above video. Unless the rep was looking to catch a pink slip, we think the PlayBook will support Android apps in some capacity. But since this isn't an official announcement, it's still a rumor. A very good one.
