New Marvel Edition Gamepad Costs Less, Fights More

If you want to bang out on a budget, the new $40 controller might just be for you.

The peripherals game is pricy—but for those of you who can't afford to drop over $100 for a shiny new fighting stick, take heart.  Performance Design Products (PDP) has introduced a limited Marvel Edition fighting controller to give Xbox 360 owners better performance without taking the full plunge.

The button layout has two rows of three buttons each, making it ideal for fighting games such as Marvel vs. Capcom 3; it also works great for other games that require lots of bumper-mashing, as those buttons have been moved next to the X, Y, A, and B buttons. What you lose, however, is the second analog thumbstick—it's not in fighters, but may limit the controller’s use in other genres. But for frugal fighters, the price is right at $39.99, and the artwork makes it one of the more impressive-looking gamepads out there.
