As with many great memes, the folks at moviebarcode have taken it upon themselves to re-edit some of Hollywood's classics... but with an innovative yet simple twist.
The tumblr blog presents every scene from a popular movie shrunken down to a single colorful stripe and presented in sequence as a new image, or "barcode." You won't pick up any plot details in the bars of color, but directors and cinematographers do convey meaning with hues and temperatures. Witness David Fincher's penchant for dark tonal cues above.
