However, The Wolf of Wall Street won’t be Scorsese’s next project after his 3D children's movie Hugo Cabret (opening on December 9), according to indieWire. Apparently the oft-delayed film Silence is Uncle Marty's immediate focus. Based on a novel by Shusaku Endo, Silence revolves around the persecution of two Jesuit missionaries in 17th century Japan. Daniel Day-Lewis, Benicio Del Toro and Gael Garcia Bernal have all been rumored to have roles in the film.
Silence has long been a passion for Scorsese, but a series of legal problems have delayed the film’s production. But with those battles settled, it appears as though the director with the most famous eyebrows in the Western world is set to finally deliver.
