As far as we know there is only one rapper out there using the poet e.e. cummings as a reference in his raps (e.e. cumming on her face / now that's poetry in motion), and his name is Childish Gambino. Donald Glover, a consistent source of laughs on NBC's Community, is Childish Gambino and he will be touring soon. Whether or not you want to argue about the viability of "joke rap," it's becoming increasingly difficult to argue against Glover's talent. He makes his own beats and pens his own off-kilter punchlines. One second he's referencing Minority Report, the next he's on to Freaks and Geeks. That's range we can get behind.
