There is nothing that the ego trip crew cannot do, and do well, from magazines and books to TV and stage shows. Last year, the gang launched the hip-hop documentary film series Under the Influence of ego trip, and it was such a hit that they've returned with Under the Influence of ego trip Pt. 2. The series, which is co-curated by Andreas Vingaard, features carefully selected docs either made during or focused on the early hip-hop era. Three all-new monthly film programs will be screened at the Maysles Institute in Harlem.

The first program is tomorrow night (Thursday, February 24) at 7:30 p.m., and it features Ron Lawrence and Hassan Pore's controversial 2009 documentary Founding Fathers. Ego trip member Chairman Mao explains why you can't miss this one:

Following the screening, there will be a Q&A with filmmaker Hassan Pore. Also scheduled to appear: Fab 5 Freddy, the Disco Twins, DJ Lance, and DJ Divine of Infinity Machine! It gets no fresher than that, folks! See below for full event details, a clip from Founding Fathers, and the full series schedule.
