If you just can’t wait for Ryan Reynolds and his ridiculously cut abs to light up screens this summer in The Green Lantern, then DC Comics has a solution for you. Coming this May, DC will unleash five prequel comics detailing what some of the major characters in the movie were doing before the events of the film. The creative teams on each book have strong ties to the movie as Green, Guggenheim, Goldenberg, and Berlanti all have screenwriting credits on the film and De Line has a producer credit on it. And comic fans will instantly recognize that Johns, Tomasi and Schlagman have all been integral to the development of the Green Lantern comics in recent years.
The Green Lantern opens in theaters on June 17.
