Sometimes, Hollywood’s casting agents are so spot-on that it’s scary. Case in point: Deadline reports that Amber Heard—the incredibly hot blonde from flicks like Pineapple Express and Zombieland—is in talks to star in NBC’s in-development series Playboy, which will center on Chicago’s infamous Playboy Club circa 1963.

Now here’s where things really start sounding great: If the deal ultimately happens (and our fingers are crossed that it does), Heard would play an orphan from Fort Wayne with an “untethered sexuality and a dark past.” The operative words there, obviously, are “untethered” and “sexuality.”

Alan Taylor, who’s proven his chops on shows like The Sopranos, Mad Men (for which he also shot the pilot), and Boardwalk Empire, will direct the Playboy pilot episode.

As for Heard, she’ll co-star in with the nutso-looking Nicolas Cage movie Drive Angry 3D coming out later this month, as well as the Johnny Depp-starring The Rum Diary, an adaptation of Hunter S. Thompson’s that currently has no release date. Sometime this year, she’ll also headline horror legend John Carpenter’s comeback flick, The Ward—her first lead role. Though, she gets top billing in our dreams on a routine basis.
