Why we’re excited: Still want to ring Brett Ratner’s neck for the clusterfuck that was 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand? Take a number. Fortunately for us lovers of all things X, Kick-Ass helmer Matthew Vaughn is the man behind this mutant-packed origin story, which shows the early days when young Charles Xavier/Professor X (James McAvoy) and Erik Lensherr/Magneto (Michael Fassbender) were BFFs. All of the peripheral pieces look good, as well. Kevin Bacon should chew up plenty of scenery as supervillain Sebastian Shaw, while honeys January Jones (Mad Men) and Jennifer Lawrence (Winter’s Bone) have already usurped X-Men old-timers Halle Berry and Rebecca Romijn in our fantasies. Shit, who are we kidding? Four is better than two any day.
