Charges: NTP, a company founded by the inventor of wireless email, Tom Campana, is suing Apple, Google, HTC, LG, Microsoft, and Motorola, for infringing upon eight patents relating to wireless email delivery.
Outcome: NTP already got $612.5 million out of RIM after a drawn-out legal battle involving similar patent troubles in 2006. Will it be able to get dough out of almost every major mobile-handset maker? Doubtful.
