#9: HELENE CHANEL AS PEARL HERNANDEZ IN CJAMANGO (1967)
Traditionally in spaghetti westerns, beautiful women were expected to know their roles. As the makeshift nurse in Cjamango, B-movie starlet Helene Chanel exemplified one of the more common jobs for women in six-shooter films. The title character gets roughed up after a poker game and recovers under Chanel’s care—she’s the textbook caregiver. Of course, dumbass Cjamango eventually leaves her side to clap back at his enemies, which doesn’t end well. Vengeance is his but we’d have focused on a different V-word.
