Waiting For Robot: "Portal 2" Gets Delayed

With the anticipated sequel getting pushed back, we'll just have to go back to the original and spend some more time with our buddy the Companion Cube.

robotBreaking news from the Valve Time Continues To Crush Our Dreams department: looks like Portal 2 has been pushed back to April from its intended February release. Sure, two months isn't horrible, especially considering how long we've been waiting for other Valve fare like Half-Life 2: Episode 3, but it still means we have like five months until we get the joy of the co-op campaign and it hugging robots. As incredible as the original Portal was, it was still at its core a first-person puzzle experience, and so lacked an emotional core—unless you count the ever-lovable Weighted Companion Cube. And with the separate co-op mode (there's a single-player as well) lasting longer than the original game, we have a feeling our brief time with the WCC might be eclipsed by the hugging robots. So while we don't like this delay, we'll spend some of it making the most of the time we have left with our beloved WCC, and getting our hug-button fingers primed and ready...
