It didn’t bother trying to be realistic—and how could it be with a 16-bit drive?—instead focusing on gameplay that emulated the way we played as kids: Good defense meant fouling the shit out of someone and rules need not apply. Sure, Bill Clinton was never on our team doing a 360 dunk with a ball on fire while an announcer screamed, "Boomshakalaka!" But in our imaginations, that's exactly how we were playing.
