Diary of the Dead

Diary of the Dead

Director: George A. Romero
Synopsis: A group of student filmmakers set out to create a horror film but turn their camera on an unexpected zombie apocalypse instead.
Year: 2007

Romero has made some fine films over the years, but zombies will always pay his rent. His career was dusted off with Land of the Dead, yet while he wallows in biting social commentary that was harsh before Nixon was President (see, the problem with young folks is they live life through a filter of technology...), younger filmmakers are making undead films that kick him in his old balls.

Seriously some of these aren't even Horror movies. The inclusion of Amityville Horror, shows that you have no taste and your writing staff probably Diggs these lists up.

So ...`Children of the Corn` is the 49th least scary movie ... AND the 49th scariest movie at the same time ?!? http://best.complex.com/lists/The-50-Scariest-Movies-of-All-Time/children-of-the-corn WTF Complex ?!? I love your lists most of the time , but scary and unscary arent exactly the same thing, also I think there are more than 100 horror flicks, so this is kind of inconsistent ...

I ignored the highly entertaining Resident Evil being listed but this one is just plain wrong. You may not like the films it has inspired but Hostel is very effective.

John Carpenters Village of the Damned, while not the scariest movie ever made, it sure is entertaining.

Wow ! Enjoyed reading all the comments, and totally agreed with the analysis. Though tilted towards vulgarity ,like sticking pubic hair on Nicholson's face,or the comment, no one did the blow job, etc. , it was one hell of a hilarious commentary, which i read through non-stop for all the fifty movies ! Would enjoy reading some thing more like this. May be some phony war movies ? or boring sci-fi ? Thanks, Shobhana.

Did you even watch the movie? No one dies from eating pop rocks and soda. The comment about the actress killing a child in real life is in bad taste. This list is terrible as well.

You need to get your facts straight. It's Uwe Bowle not Ulli Lommel that is the the "direct to DVD hack".

i think you're looking at "open water" as a horror water when in fact it's nothing of the kind. suspense, maybe a thriller, but not horror. if you are watching it on the wrong level then you're going to find it lacking on that level. i would suggest you go back and watch it for what it is. someone's vacation movies. and what happens when you don't learn to count. really not that bad of a movie.
