A year after becoming a worldwide pop rap sensation with his third album, Please, Hammer, Don't Hurt 'Em, MC Hammer answered all the critics who called him a cartoonish, dancing-ass sellout…by starring in this Saturday morning cartoon, in which he played a youth center worker who transforms into the superhero Hammerman whenever he dons magical anthropomorphic dancing shoes. OK, so maybe it was a bit of a minstrel show, but we were kids, it featured live-action and animated Hammer, and we wanted to get our hands, eyes, and ears on anything he put out, no matter how many times he told us, “U can’t touch this!”

Man this brought back a lot of good memories. I grew up without cable so I was lucky enough to be able to watch most of these. TMNT #1! Hell yeah. Although I would have put Loony Tunes in the top 3. Loony Tunes is definitely better than Duck Tales.

Great post! I agree with Riff Raff about Looney Tunes. Tom & Jerry is also up there. Muppet Babies let me know when it was time to browse and if nothing was on come back to it. Seeing TMNT #1 was all good though,although they had me up EarlY,lol...and why is it saying and labeled "Hero" Turtles in the intro??? When did that ever happen? No love for Tiger Sharks? or the rapping frogs? I think they should have made an exception for Kung Fu Theatre even if it was ranked #50.
