When it comes to real race tracks and circuits, we have plenty of favorites. There's the yacht-lined Circuit de Monaco, the tire bruising Silverstone, the legendary Nürburgring, and our hometown favorite, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The only time we get to touch their pavement is when we turn on our video game console and load up a racing game. And that's fine. But over the years, as our days and weekends have been consumed with a number of different racing games, we've found ourselves liking certain fictional tracks just as much as the real ones. Good track design is an unsung art, as any racing sim fan can tell you—so as we prepare for the first Formula 1 race at the newly redesigned Silverstone Circuit, we thought it'd be an apt time to look back on all our favorite video game race tracks. Gentlemen, start your consoles!
