Not content with letting Google and all the other upstart cloud-computing companies nibble at its productivity marketshare, Microsoft finally launches the free, online version of its Office software suite. Available through Microsoft's Windows Live SkyDrive, Office Web Apps is a straight shot at Google Docs, allowing users to view, edit, and share Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote documents directly in their browsers. Microsoft says the interoperability between the Office Web Apps and the full Office 2010 programs will be a game-changer.
