Welcome back to Mobile Check-In, where every week we present the latest and greatest in mobile handset gaming. When we last showed you the hottest games for the iPhone, Assassin's Creed lead the pack as the best new game for the Apple device. This time around we have a five new games that solidify the iPhones spot as the best gaming phone on the market. On deck this week is Street Fighter IV, the next Doodle Jump, and a familiar character that's pretty good with his hands (ayo!). Hit the jump to see which games made the cut along with download links and gameplay footage.

transformers

TITLE: Transformers G1: Awakening
GENRE: Strategy
COMPLEX SAYS: With game adaptations as shitty as the movies Michael Bay crapped out, you wouldn't think a Transformers game for the iPhone would be any good. But it is. Transformers: G1 Awakening is not a slick shoot and blow 'em up game, nor is it that beautifully designed, but it gets the job
done. It's like a dumbed down Advanced Wars with Optimus Prime.

cosmokid

TITLE: Cosmo Kid: Bounce the Universe
GENRE: Platform
COMPLEX SAYS: If you're a fan of Doodle Jump or Papi Jump then you should be a fan of Cosmo Kid: Bounce the Universe. Set in a number of different worlds, Cosmo kid needs your help to ascend through the galaxies. What separates this from the other ascending platform games, though, is the little bit of player control that dictates where you jump. If there is no space beneath you, just draw a line under Cosmo Kid, he'll bounce right up! Wait you have to wag your finger under a kid to win? Where is Shane Sparks when you need him?!

streetfighter

TITLE: Street Fighter IV
GENRE: Fighting
COMPLEX SAYS: Even though SFIV kinda sucks balls (*Ducks for cover and awaits the "GTFOH" comments*), we'll co-sign Street Fighter IV for the iPhone. Why? For one, the controls are a little more arcade-like and it's not as choppy to move. Plus Street Fighter on your phone? That's always a win.

FINALFANTASY

TITLE: Final Fantasy & Final Fantasy II
GENRE: RPG
COMPLEX SAYS: Having Final Fantasy I and II on the iPhone is pretty much a guarantee that they've got the gaming world on lock. Released on the same day, the two original epics are back and look almost as good as we remember them being on our consoles. Plus they're games that require more attention than most iPhone games ask of you, and they'll make you forget about the fact you're on a shitty bus surrounded by old people. Say hi to grandma for us.

rayman

TITLE: Rayman 2: The Great Escape
GENRE: Adventure
COMPLEX SAYS: Rayman is a bit childish, we're not going to front. Still, that doesn't take away from the fact that this game is seriously fun and it will probably (read: hopefully) open the door for big games like Crash Bandicoot and (wishful thinking) Mario 64 to find their way onto the iPhone. Rayman 2 isn't much of a star (he's like the off-off-off Broadway verio of Mario), but we're just happy he's around.
