Welcome back to Handheld Check-In, where every month we bring you the latest and greatest in handheld console gaming. When we last checked in on handheld consoles, Attorney Miles Edgeworth (and his Prince stunt double suit) was taking the floor and Sonic and SEGA regulars were racing to the top. This week we're featuring remake of a classic RPG (No, it's not FFVII, keep dreaming), an intergalactic adventure (No Cudi), and another reason you should go to hell. Our recommendations are so on point, you'll want to marry your DS! (unless you're already married to another inanimate object) Peep the jump for our picks, pics, and gameplay footage...

pokemon_soulsilver2

TITLE: Pokemon HeartGold Version & Pokemon SoulSilver Version
GENRE: RPG
COMPLEX SAYS: OK, we get it, you don't want to look like a kid—but the fact remains that Pokemon is one of the best series around and you can't go wrong with a remake. If you have to, blame it on nostalgia, but you should probably be more concerned with the fact that you're still hanging out at Chuck E. Cheese and you don't have a kid.

infinite

TITLE: Infinite Space
GENRE: RPG
COMPLEX SAYS: We're fans of games like Trauma Center, Ace Attorney, and other games that are 90% static character faces and dialogue followed by ten minutes of actual gameplay between all of it. Infinite Space is one of those games. Except you leave the ER/courtroom/curious village and head to outer space, where you control starships and explore the galaxy. So if you like surgery evidence space, this is the game for you!

alice

TITLE: Alice In Wonderland
GENRE: Adventure
COMPLEX SAYS: Typically, games based on movies blow (and vice versa). However, now and then you get a decent game. Alice in Wonderland for the DS is pretty dope. It doesn't really follow the movie (which you probably gathered when we said it was good): it's got funny dialogue, and the artwork is crazy. Imagine if Alice met Samurai Jack. Yeah, we're happy with that too.

mlb

TITLE: MLB '10 The Show
GENRE: Sports
COMPLEX SAYS: Baseball might be America's greatest pastime, but it's terribly boring and bordering on irrelevant. However, MLB '10: The Show was an awesome game for home consoles and so it only makes sense to have it on the go. C'mon, kids, it's the only way to save baseball. Oh, that and Derek Jeter's jawdropping fiancée, Minka Kelly. (Yes, that is a link to her hottest pics. You're welcome)

dante

TITLE: Dante's Inferno
GENRE: Action
COMPLEX SAYS: Yeah, Dante's Inferno was pretty good—and while the PSP Go can't quite capture the feeling that the PS3 can, it's still worth the buck. Why? Because Dante's Inferno is a lot cooler than you dressing up like a knight and going to Medieval Times.
