Could movies exist without music? No doubt. Hollywood could exist without cocaine and casting couches, too, but it wouldn't be nearly as awesome, would it? This Sunday night, The 82nd Annual Academy Awards will celebrate the songs that made moviegoers feel the cinematic moment. OK, other than "The Weary Kind (Theme from Crazy Heart)," the nominees for Best Original Song are pretty fucking lame this year. Still, that fact doesn't diminish the importance of music in movies, so while the field is weak this year, Complex celebrates the superior sounds of cinema with The 50 Greatest Movie Soundtracks of All Time. Before anyone screams out, "Yo, where da fuck is da Godfather ova heah?!" we're talking strictly songs, no scores (that's another list!). So what takes the prize?
