Complex TV Picks of the Day: Olympic Hockey, "The Departed" & More!

Yeah, you're DVRing Lost, but what else?

None

You're gonna record Lost anyway (how else to figure out what the eff is going on?), so why not catch up on a little live sports this evening? Hockey's biggest stars, Sidney Crosby (above) and Alexander Ovechkin, don the jerseys of their respective homelands to kick off a tourney that we hope ends with their teams' battling for a gold medal (yes, we're not rooting for the U.S.), that plus The Departed and a classic episode of Biography in this edition of TV Picks of the Day...

SPORTS: OLYMPIC HOCKEY, CANADA VS. NORWAY (7:30 ET); RUSSIA VS. LATVIA (MIDNIGHT ET), CNBC
• These have been a weird and tragic Olympics so far, but things should get a little more normal with the beginning of the men's hockey tournament. The U.S. plays at 3 ET, but the star power is in prime time, with Crosby and the Canucks battling Norway, and Alexander Ovechkin (above) leading the Russkies against former Soviet republic Latvia. There will be better matchups later in the week (like when Canada and Russia meet), but get familiar with the squads early tonight.

MOVIE: THE DEPARTED, 8 PM, FX
• Recession sap your high-end Pay TV options? Eff an HBO. Marty Scorsese's modern masterpiece is on F/X tonight, and any flick that makes you root for Leo DiCaprio has to be good.

DRAMA: LOST, 9 PM, ABC
• Locke gets his Richard Hatch on in the third installment of the series' final season. So confusing, we're almost tempted to quit smoking weed before we watch in an effort to keep up. Almost.

DOCUMENTARY/SCIENCE FICTION: LIFE AFTER PEOPLE: WAVES OF DEVASTATION, 10 PM, HISTORY
• Here's an idea for a Tuesday night mind-fuck: watch Lost, followed by the latest installment of Life After People, which covers catastrophic floods. Then catch the repeat of The O'Reilly Factor (11 PM ET) to really get down.

DOCUMENTARY: BIOGRAPHY: DANA PLATO, 9 PM, BIOGRAPHY
• Yes, the episode is three years old, and yes, you've seen it five times already, but Kimberly Drummond's sad saga is still car-wreck fascinating all the same.
