Judging from cool screenshots like the one above and generally positive early reviews, Avatar: The Game doesn't suck as bad as pretty much every other movie-based title. And boy, have there been some sucky ones. We're looking at you, King Kong.
But not all tie-in games have been unplayable. (In fact, there are some that even made our Best of 2000s list.) Read on to see our choices for the top 10 movie-based video games of all time...
#10:Disney's Aladdin
DEVELOPER/PUBLISHER/PLATFORMS: Disney Interactive Studios/Virgin Interactive/Genesis, Amiga, MS-DOS, NES, Game Boy, Game Boy Color
RELEASE DATE: November 11, 1993
THE COMPLEX CO-SIGN: It may be kind of easy to turn an animated film into a video game, but this is by far the best to do it. This action-platformer is not only mad fun to play on the Genesis, but its cel animation makes for some pretty awesome graphics. Jumping, jumping, and sword-killing seems pretty basic now, but it's never not fun.
