31. Locked Up Abroad (National Geographic)
Where do you never ever want to be? Check this show's title for the answer. Better yet, peep any episode from this well-produced NatGeo series, which travels around the world to reenact stories of first-world travelers who land in third-world jails. The predictability of each episode's narrative arc—bored American/Brit smuggles drugs, gets caught, and then suffers in overcrowded foreign prison—makes them no less compelling. We've seen enough doomed airport security checks on LUA that we'll never even consider sneaking greenery through customs. Not again, anyway.

The show's O.G. U.K. title is the considerably cooler Banged Up Abroad. Sounds like a Rocco Siffredi movie, don't it?
