CMG Records’ 2022 press conference went down on Thursday.

Minutes into the event, Gotti was asked about a rumored joint project from 42 Dugg and EST Gee. The label boss directed the question to his artists. “Yeah, we got something comin’,” Dugg said. “Me and Gee been working on our tape…that shit coming soon. We finishing that right now. Just be ready for it.”

So when can fans expect the collaborative tape? According to Gotti, it should arrive as soon as next week. “Like, February 18,” he said.

Shortly after, Gotti announced the latest addition to the CMG family: none other than Sacramento rapper Mozzy. “I always wanted to work with an artist from the West Coast,” he said. “After years of having big conversations, running into each other, and sharing ideas, we come here tonight to let you know…we’re [bringing] our dawg Mozzy into CMG.”

Mozzy then stepped on the stage to shed more light on how the deal came to be. “Overdue, overdue, out the gate,” Mozzy said. “Big dawg been tappin’ in with me—I’m talkin’ about even before a n***a career even popped. … We had conversations, he told me there was a seat at the table. I had to get my life right, tie up a couple of loose ends; I tied them motherfuckers up, we here now. You already seen the roster, that motherfucker go brazy already. It’s no secret. I’m just trying to get straight to it, n***a, I’m trying to run up some cocaine money,” he continued with a laugh.

Shortly after, Mozzy dropped his new single with Roddy Ricch, “Real Ones.”

The presser came just hours after Gotti dropped the video for “Giving Back,” a standout cut from his newly released album CM10: Free Game. The two-disc project spanned 22 tracks and featured contributions from Moneybagg Yo, Kodak Black, 42 Dugg, Blac Youngsta, and EST Gee.

In the week leading up to the CM10 release, Gotti announced the “Change a Rapper’s Life” contest, which challenged aspiring MCs to deliver their hardest rhymes over the “Dolla fo Dolla” beat.

“I’mma upload this song, whoever put the hardest verse on it, I’mma put you on my album, CM10. … If I fuck with you enough, might put you on the label,” Gotti said in a video.

Gotti later announced he would allow all participants to upload their “Dolla fo Dolla” track on all streaming platforms and take home the revenue with no strings attached.
