Weeks after announcing their relationship, Yo Gotti and Angela Simmons made their first public appearance together on Wednesday at the Grizzlies’ game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, where they sat courtside in Gotti’s hometown of Memphis.

A source close to the pair told TMZ “things are going extremely well for them as a couple, and she even got to meet some of his friends during their trip back to Gotti’s home turf.”

Simmons and Gotti confirmed their then-rumored relationship with a romantic photo shoot on New Year’s Eve. Days later, Angela took to her Instagram Stories to celebrate her new love. “Happier than I ever been,” she wrote alongside a heart emoji.

Rumors of a romance between Gotti and Simmons had been discussed for years, notably after Gotti famously expressed his crush on his 2015 hit “Down in the DM.”

“And I just followed Angela (Simmons)/Boy, I got a crush on Angela Simmons/They like, ‘Damn Gotti, you bold’/Fuck it, I’m gon’ let the world know (goals),” he rapped. Gotti also referenced Simmons on his 2017 song “Save It for Me,” which he dropped shortly after she became engaged to Sutton Tennyson.

“Passed my number to Angela/I thought I had her/Her n***a cuffed her, married, it made me madder/I respect it, I’m moving on, but the truth is I want her badder/Maybe me sayin’ her name made him move faster,” he rapped.

On Wednesday, Simmons hopped on Instagram to share a pic of her and Gotti courtside. “Long as I’m next to you,” she captioned the image.
