Los Angeles meets North Carolina meets Memphis in this national link-up of YG, J. Cole, and Moneybagg Yo for their new song “Scared Money.” The track will be featured on YG’s upcoming  sixth studio album, which will be titled Pray for Me

Ahead of the track’s release, YG shared a snippet of the cinematic visuals that dropped with the song.

The menacing cover art for the single also features the trio wearing blacked-out suits like something out of The Godfather. That cover art reflects the menacing hook of the track as well, “Scared money don’t make no money,” as each rapper takes turns flexing their unique accolades.

YG opens the song with authority, referencing how he has his own shoes like Kanye and also calling himself “best dressed, but I ain’t no Kid Cudi.”

Then J. Cole arrives to continue his hot streak of features and completely tears apart his verse, beginning with flexing about his budding basketball career and then reveling in the fact that no other rapper is on his level. “I was thinking bout walking up a stack of crates/But I was busy stacking cake,” Cole spits, referencing the popular Milk Crate Challenge that took social media by storm this past summer. Also in his verse Cole says he has a private plane, comparing himself to Drake and raps about having three cribs in the same neighborhood.

Monenybagg Yo slides in to close the track, adding in some impressive flexes of his own as well.
