Fresh off teasing the track in a Beats by Dre commercial, Vince Staples and Mustard have shared their new collaboration “Magic.”

The song is the first single off Staples’ upcoming album Ramona Park Broke My Heart. Due out in April, the LP will serve as the official follow-up to the Long Beach rapper’s self-titled 2021 album.

Staples says the mood of “Magic” encapsulates the overall sound of Ramona Park. “I think it’ll put the listener in a good state of mind,” he explained in a press release. “The mood of it defines the project.”

Speaking about the title of his highly anticipated album, Vince explained it’s a tribute to the Ramona Park neighborhood in Long Beach where he grew up.

“It’s symbolic of home,” he said. “And everyone has a home. Even though it’s very personal to me, everyone can relate to it. That’s why I thought it would work for this chapter.”

As for how fans can expect his forthcoming project to relate to 2021’s Vince Staples, the 28-year-old said “there’s a direct correlation.”

“They were kind of created at the same time,” Staples revealed. “I was in a similar state of mind. I’m still working through things and the questions that life poses. This album will make even more sense if you heard the previous one.” There is a key change, though. “This one has more answers.”
