Kehlani Shares New Video for “Altar,” First Single Off ‘Blue Water Road’ Album

After dropping an official teaser trailer online for her next album Blue Water Road, Kehlani dropped off the project’s first single titled “Altar.”

The single, which was produced by super-producer Pop Wansel, comes on the heels of Kehlani’s surprise announcement yesterday that her third album Blue Water Road will drop this winter. She made the announcement via a chilling trailer that featured a snippet from the “Altar” video. 

The Grammy-nominated R&B singer released her debut mixtape Cloud 19 to streaming services on Aug. 26 in honor of the project’s 7th anniversary, which she celebrated on social media. “Nothing will ever feel like Cloud 19 felt,” she wrote on Twitter. “Signing cd’s and handing them out up and down the street. giving people my first body of work. leading to my first tours. what a special day im EMOTIONAL! happy #CLOUD19 DAY!”

She also shared her excitement on Instagram as well. “HAPPY 7 YEARS OF CLOUD 19! wow i was a baby when i dropped this,” she wrote in a caption. “In honor of my first love, we put it on streaming services everywhere!”

Kehlani has been doing a good bout of summer touring as well. She recently headlined London’s Yam Carnival Music Festival on Aug. 28, and performed at Made In America Festival on Sept. 4 in Philadelphia. She’s set to perform another show at New York’s Governors Ball Music Festival on Sept. 24th.
