Kanye West Spotted With Big Sean Following Infamous ‘Drink Champs’ Controversy

A big part of the potential 'Donda 2' era has been daily photos-inspired speculation regarding who Ye may or may not be linking with in the studio.

As speculation continues to build surrounding sessions for what may or may not end up being the full-blown sequel to Donda, the artist formerly known as Kanye West has been spotted with Big Sean, notably in the wake of some publicly-aired-out issues between the two.

As seen below, the two linked-by-G.O.O.D. artists appeared in widely shared Los Angeles-area photos on Monday night. Also appearing in shots from the same date are French Montana, Pusha-T, and Fivio Foreign. The latter, of course, is only a few months removed from bagging what is roundly considered one of the best verses of 2021 by way of the Donda track “Off the Grid.”

While the exact circumstances surrounding this documented link-up remain unconfirmed, it’s hard to argue against the fan-favored assumption that it has something to do with new music. Earlier this month, ubiquitous record exec Steven Victor exclusively informed Complex that Ye has “started working on his new masterpiece Donda 2.” The weeks since have been filled with photo-based speculation about potential contributors to the intended sequel, not to mention the release of Ye and the Game’s Pete Davidson-referencing “Eazy” collab.

Prior to any such sequel talk, however, Ye and Sean made headlines after the latter confirmed in October that he had parted ways with Ye’s G.O.O.D. Music label. Shortly afterward, Ye said during a heavy-with-pull-quotes Drink Champs interview that signing the Detroit 2 artist stood as the “worst thing I’ve ever done.”

Additional comments ensued, including a Sean appearance on Drink Champs during which he simultaneously expressed gratitude to Ye and called his more recent remarks “some bitch ass shit,” though this latest development implies things are at least semi-OK between the two.

Ye and Sean are both on the lineup for this year’s Coachella, which sees the former headlining alongside Harry Styles and Billie Eilish.
