French Montana took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a text message from Kanye West in which ‘Ye says he’ll help the Coke Boys rapper reach billionaire status.
“This is why I reached out,” Kanye texted French. “Your mind and creativity, I’ll get you the billion.”
While ‘Ye didn’t provide any context regarding potential plans he has for Montana, you’d be hard pressed to find someone willing to reject West’s business acumen.
Although he’s already reached billionaire status, Kanye has remained focused on finding his next business endeavor. Last September, West’s company Mascotte Holdings, Inc. filed a trademark application to use his name on a line of home decor products. ‘Ye filed another trademark in October under his Mascotte Holdings, Inc. company to use “Donda” on a line of electronic products.
Meanwhile, despite his established status in hip-hop, French hasn’t lost his hunger. When speaking with Ebro Darden in December, Montana explained how it feels to see many other artists “surpass” him.
“I feel like I seen a lot of my peers that came from less fortunate places and accomplished so many things,” he said. “I feel like I could have been … I’ve been seeing a lot of my peers that just surpassed me and I’m like, ‘Yo, how they doing it?’”
French went on to touch on his confusion with seeing other artists reach success while partying hard, until he came to the conclusion that many of said stars were putting on an act.
“Like, yo, they act like they drinking with you … Like how Akon used to be with the Shirley Temple acting drunk?” he said. “And I’d be like, ‘Yo, you don’t even drink.’ He’d be like, ‘Man, I got to act drunk with these people.’ like, ‘Yo, I got to learn from that.’”
