UPDATED 9/1, 5:07 p.m. ET: Doechii returns with the official video for the âPersuasiveâ remix, featuring fellow TDE artist SZA.
Directed by Sara Lacombe, the striking visual finds the artists posing atop a range rover, dancing on a pole, twerking under water, and more. The racy imagery pairs well with the uptempo track, which appeared on Doechiiâs she / her / black bitch EP.
âI created âPersuasiveâ to uplift people and bring communities together, so having SZA jump on the song was a perfect fit because Iâve always connected with others over her music,â Doechii said in a press release announcing the video. âKnowing that SZA is with TDE was what originally got me most excited about being on this label, so now that we have a song together itâs a full-circle moment. She really ATE! This collaboration is everything I always imagined it to be.â

Doechii kept it in the TDE family.
The Tampa-born rapper joined forces with label-mate SZA on the official remix of âPersuasive,â her first single release under the TDE banner. Doechii teased the updated version on Twitter this week, confirming it would arrive on Friday.Â
The original âPersuasiveâ version arrived back in March, around the time Doechii announced she had inked a deal with the hip-hop imprint, which is home to stars like Jay Rock, Ab-Soul, ScHoolboy Q, Reason, and Isaiah Rashad. She linked up with the latter artist on last yearâs track âWat U Sed,â and also served as the opening act on SZAâs 2021 Good Days Tour.
âIâm excited to run with Top Dawg â to work, to have a home for my overflowing ideas,â Doechii told Complex about her TDE deal. âI want to create a new vision, a new lane, and so much music. Everyone is invited to the Doechii dominance.â
You can stream the âPersuasiveâ on all major platforms.Â
Fans can also catch Doechii at AFROPUNK Brooklyn 2022 later this summer. The event will take place Sept. 10-11 in Commodore Barry Park in Brooklyn, and will include headline performances by The Roots and Burna Boy, as well as appearances by Lucky Daye, Freddie Gibbs, Tierra Whack, Earl Sweatshirt, and more.
