After her viral TikTok hit “Vibe for Me” got people bobbing through the pandemic, Toronto R&B artist Aqyila is back with another track, this time the smooth “Pressure.”
The success of her bob-shaped wig dance on TikTok to “Vibe For Me (Bob For Me)” led to the 23-year-old signing with Sony Music Canada a year ago, and the likes of Merrick Hanna, Dixie D’Amelio, Lizzo, and Monica have caught on. Millions of TikTok users have created their own videos with the track.
In no time, Aqyila found herself in the Top 100 TikTok All Time Top Tracks chart.
The Toronto native of Jamaican descent started out posting covers on YouTube but has been writing her own songs since she was 10. Earlier this year, she was nominated for a Juno in Contemporary R&B Recording category.
“Pressure” is the first single from her upcoming debut EP.
