Following his tragic passing in late March, a memorial dedicated to Nipsey Hussle sprung up outside of his Marathon store in Los Angeles. The rapper, who was fatally shot outside the shop on March 31, received an outpouring of love from the community around him upon his death. The memorial won't be around for much longer, however, as TMZ reports that people have been using it as a chance to make money with bootleg merch and scams.

Sources close to the West Coast rapper's family and friends say the scene outside of Marathon has become too hectic, with people exploiting the tragedy for their own gain. There were still plenty of fans paying their respect to Nip, though, with notes, pictures, flowers, and candles left at the scene. Due to opportunists selling unauthorized t-shirts with Hussle's likeness, and some even charging fans to approach the memorial, the site will be shut down very soon.

Reports also indicate that food trucks frequently arrived at the scene of the store, taking advantage of the chaos. This isn't the first time people have used Nipsey's death for their own gain, as scalpers were caught trying to sell free tickets to his Staples Center memorial service last month. Programs from the service were being sold on eBay, but the bidding website insisted that the selling of the programs was "prohibited."
