Def Jam Signee Pvrx Drops Two New Songs

The latest from the Toronto singer.

Pvrx may have been hibernating, but the singer is ready for the spotlight this year. Don't let his lack of releases fool you, the Rexdale artist has been quietly making some big moves. Following a run of strong independent drops — if you haven't watched the video for "Make It", please do so now — Pvrx (pronounced Py’rex) was scouted by reps at Def Jam who eventually signed him up last November. Since then, the man's fan base has been eagerly awaiting another track to help tide them over until the debut of a major label project. Thankfully, Pvrx and his team delivered this weekend with a combo pack of two new songs.

Entitled "Know Me" and "Mixed by 40", the pair of tracks come at us with the same moody sonics we've grown to love from the west Toronto talent. Both showcase Pvrx's vocal range and knack for melodic flows, and come equipped with infectious, bouncy instrumentals. "Know Me" is emphasized by a playful falsetto, while the detailed narrative throughout "Mixed by 40" harkens back to some of Pvrx's earlier work, like the haunting "94". You can listen to both below via Soundcloud, but they're also available on all major streaming platforms.
