Birdman Apologizes to Lil Wayne at Lil’ Weezyana Fest

Birdman got on stage next to Lil Wayne and offered an apology to his surrogate son in New Orleans for all to see.

Saturday night marked the return of the Lil' Weezyana Fest. The event also commemorated the tenth anniversary of Tha Carter III. But fans probably weren’t expecting Birdman to take the stage alongside Lil Wayne in Champions Square.

“It feels amazing to be home fucking with my son, I love that nigga to death. I don’t know what y’all know but I know what the fuck I know and I know how I feel about what I know,” Birdman told the crowd. “I knew this day was gon’ come but I ain’t know when it was gon’ come. But this nigga right chea? The best nigga, the realest nigga, the illest nigga. And I wanted to apologize to my nigga worldwide.”

After the apology, Birdman and Weezy bust out into a performance of “Still Fly,” a song created by Birdman himself and his Big Tymers’ collaborator Mannie Fresh.

Although Wayne appeared to appreciate the gesture on stage, it’s no secret that the pair’s relationship has been put to the test over the past few years. However, their relationship has its ebb and flow. Back in March, the duo hugged inside a Miami nightclub. In June, Wayne reached a settlement with Birdman and Cash Money Records, which means fans may finally get to hear Tha Carter V one day. Only time will tell.
