Teyana Taylor Responds to Azealia Banks' Accusation That She Stole the Choreography for "Fade"

Taylor called the allegation "false information."

In the midst of her recent drama with Cardi B, Azealia Banks posted a behind-the-scenes snippet of her upcoming music video for “Anna Wintour” on Sunday. In the clip, Banks’ dancing reminded one user of Teyana Taylor’s routine in Kanye West’svideo for “Fade,” which famously aired during the MTV VMAs back in 2016.

"Okay azealia feel that @teyanataylor fantasy i see you queen,” a user commented on the video, which prompted Banks to respond with an accusation that Taylor stole her dance moves from choreographer Matthew Pasterisa. Pasterisa also choreographed Banks' forthcoming music video. "lol you mean the choreography she stole from @bornready_matt and tried not to give him credit for until a lawyer got involved..." she wrote.

Taylor replied to Banks on Monday, commenting that she was too busy on Mother’s Day to pay her allegation any mind. “@bornready_matt give ya friend some clarity with all her inaccurate information, so she can stop spewing out all of this false information," she wrote in response to the accusation, accompanied with a video of her saying, “Oh I see you petunia. What was said? What stolen choreo?” using the big mouth filter on IG.

Taylor has credited Pasterisa for his help choreographing part of the video for “Fade,” citing in one interview that the moves were used from a routine they made for Beyoncé. It was choreographer Jae Blaze, however, who came up with the routine for most of the video.

On his personal Instagram, Pasterisa responded to Banks statement saying he did feel slighted by Taylor’s use of the choreography, but that no lawyers were ever involved and that he felt grateful for the opportunity.

Taylor shared a response to Pasterisa via Instagram, which you can read in full below:
