Styles P released his latest album, G-Host, on Friday. The album features guest appearances from Dyce Payne, Whispers, Kody, Nino Man, Boog Jone,s and more. G-Host was produced by Poobs, Boger, Jimmy Dukes, Grade A, Divine Bars and Styles’s longtime collaborator, Vinny Idol.
It marks his first full length album since the 2015 release of A Wise Guy and a Wise Guy, and it is also the rapper’s first project since the Nickel Bag EP, which dropped in March 2018. Styles had previously dropped the single “Heat of the Night” featuring Coby.
Styles P was a recent guest on Open Late with Peter Rosenberg, where he revealed, to the surprise of many of those in the room, that he believes J. Cole is in the “same tier” as Kendrick Lamar in the rap game.
"Y'all are buggin'. J. Cole is fuckin' nice man. I don't care how boring they say he is, whatever," he said. "For someone to be able to sell that story repeatedly, that's fuckin' amazing.”
"I don't see where y'all got Kendrick a notch over Cole," Styles added. "That's not flying with me. That's the same tier of rap, [though] Kendrick may be a bigger star than J. Cole."
