More details have come to light regarding the unfortunate state of Donda’s House, the nonprofit founded by Kanye West, Rhymefest, and Donnie Smith in 2013.

According to a report by The Blast, the Office of the Illinois Secretary of State gave the organization a status of “Not Good Standing” after its team failed to file their annual report on April 1 of this year.

An official from the Secretary of State told the publication the nonprofit was required to submit forms that included the goal or purpose of the organization as well as list the individuals who sat on the board of directors. The official said any organization that is given the “Not Good Standing” status has five months to correct any issues with the state’ if the organizers neglect to do so, the organization is automatically dissolved.

According to The Blast, Kanye has also been listed as the director of Donda’s House in past filings, despite previous claims that the rapper’s lack of involvement.

Over the weekend, Rhymefest reached out to Drake via Twitter, seeking financial support for the Chicago-based charity. Rhymefest accused ‘Ye of abandoning his hometown and claimed the rapper showed no interest in supporting Chicago’s youth.

After several years of lack of performance from the organization and Kanye going through personal financial issues, he could no longer fund salaries. Rhymefest asked to take it over and Kanye agreed with no financial strings attached.

Kanye gave his “friend” an opportunity to run an organization on his own. So now that Kanye is being publicly shamed for not being involved makes no sense and, at this exact time, just seems very calculated.

Kanye’s wife, Kim Kardashian, responded to Rhymefest’s claims, insisting ’Ye had asked Rhymefest to take over Donda’s House “after several years of lack of performance from the organization and Kanye going through personal financial issues.”

Due to recent events that have occurred over the last 48 hours, we have decided to no longer use the name Donda's House, Inc. This has been an incredibly difficult decision but the social media quotes from Kim Kardashian West, as well as the expressed interested of her family running the organization, has brought us to this decision.

Shortly after Kim’s tweets, the Donda’s House team released a statement announcing the organization’s name change.
