Earlier this month, a woman filed a lawsuit against Chris Brown claiming she was repeatedly raped at his house in February 2017. Now, Los Angeles prosecutors are reviewing the sexual assault allegations against Brown’s friend Lowell Grissom Jr., who allegedly raped the victim, according to the New York Daily News.
The woman, who is being represented by celebrity attorney Gloria Allred, included allegations of assault, sexual battery, gender violence, hate violence, and intentional infliction of emotional distress in her complaint. On Tuesday, police presented the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. "What was presented was for Grissom," a spokesperson told NYDN, not Brown. That means Grissom, who goes by the stage name Young Lo, is currently the only target of the investigation.
In the lawsuit, the victim, referred to as Jane Doe, claims that she met Brown and his friend Lowell Grissom in February 2017, where the two invited her to an afterparty at the singer’s studio. At the party, she surrendered her phone, and later that night the party turned into a hyper-sexualized environment. According to the victim, it was at that time the abuse began. Doe is claiming she was raped multiple times by Grissom and assaulted by another woman at the party.

[Jane] says she tried to leave but Chris’ female friend grabbed her by the throat and forced her to perform oral sex on Grissom. Doe says the female friend pushed her down on the bed and “literally sat on [her] face, using her legs to pin [her] down while forcing [her] to perform oral sex on her.”
"I am glad that the case involving Mr. Grissom is being reviewed by the L.A. County D.A.," Allred told NYDN on Tuesday. "Our client will continue to assist law enforcement in every possible way. We look forward to further developments."
Brown’s lawyer previously called the lawsuit a $17 million shakedown, a claim Allred refuted. "The police are aware of our client's allegations, and she has cooperated with a criminal investigation. My understanding is that it's still open," Allred said. "She did speak to police some time ago."
