Tyler, The Creator Responds to Fan Who Says He's Been 'Sadly Over-Promoting' New Song

Tyler defending his recent spree of social media posts for "OKRA."

Last week, Tyler, The Creator dropped a "throwaway song" called "OKRA" that came as a very pleasant surprise for fans of his early hard-hitting, dark sound.

On the day he released it, he warned everyone that he would go hard on social media, promoting the track for the next week or so. And he's delivered. Over the last week, he's been posting a series of self-made "promotional" pieces that all look something like this:

For some reason, that bothered a Twitter user named Edoardo Bellu, who complained, "Man you sadly overpromoting this 2 minute song."

In a rare response from Tyler, he quote-tweeted (and later deleted): "Yes, also effort went into this, I'm proud of it, and that's what I'm spose to do, let the world know about it and not give up after one day of putting it out eat my dick stupid."

Tyler, who has made it a point to stay away from social media in recent years—outside of album promotion—went on to tweet: "It also be people who release an album and a week later don't speak about it at all. That's so weird." He continued, "Again thanks to those who like 'Okra' it's going to radio. Will they really play it? Idk but the responses have been positive and I'm grateful for that u slimy fucks."

Then, before deleting all of the tweets, he ended with: "Sheesh I've been on socials so much recently cause of this song it's fucking up my zen up I need to for real go back to sorta hiding ewwww."

So, I guess all we can from here is make his social media efforts worthwhile and continue listening to this great fucking song:
