Police pulled over the Migos tour bus last night in North Carolina just as it was leaving a show at the Holmes Convocation Center at Boone's Appalachian State University. The Greensboro News & Record reports that police smelled marijuana coming from the bus as it left the concert venue.
Conducting a traffic stop off Highway 105, officers found weed, codeine, and Xanax in the vehicle. Three members of Migos' entourage were charged, but Quavo and Takeoff were allowed to go free. Offset was not present; more on that in a sec.
The reported amounts discovered were 26 ounces of codeine and about 420 grams of weed. Officers arrested Jharon Ahmad Murphy, 26, for felony possession of marijuana and misdemeanor possession of codeine. Two others—Daryl Irvon McPherson, 25, and Dominic Kevin Spigner, 26—were cited for simple possession of controlled substances. According to Boone PD press release, additional charges are possible, pending results from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations Laboratory.
Quavo and Takeoff continued to their destination with no further complications.
Offset wasn't even at the concert, and although no official reason was given for his absence, all signs point to him being in New York City instead, where he surprised fiancé Cardi B at the listening party for her debut album, Invasion of Privacy. Offset also flew in a bunch of Cardi's Dominican relatives, including her niece, cousin, grandparents, and aunt, so they could celebrate Cardi's big night with her.
This isn’t the first time Migos have been caught up with the police over drug charges. Back in 2015, Quavo and Offset were arrested in Georgia for multiple gun and drug charges after police stopped the group’s set and arrested members backstage during a show at Georgia Southern University.
