It's been over a year since Smino dropped his excellent debut studio album,Β blkswn,Β but the 18-song project has shown staying power,Β positioning the St. Louis rapper as one of rap's most promisingβ€”and underratedβ€”young stars.

After dropping music videos for "Anita" and "Netflix & Dusse" last year, Smino has finally unveiled the video for album opener "Wild Irish Roses."Β Directed by Jean Deaux, the clip bookends the dreamy, nostalgic vibe of the song with wild scenes of a convenience store robbery.

"The cool shit about it is, we shot it at Bob's Market,"Β Smino told Complex of the shoot. "They did Fast & Furious there, the n***a Paul Walker walked in and grabbed some shit in the movie. But yeah, it's a legendary lil spot. Probably the most memorable shit in the video was watching my homeboys, Fin and Dave Coresh just go crazy in their roles in the acting scenes. I knew they'd bring the best out of it, them n***as are some fuckin' fools."

Jean Deaux previouslyΒ revealedΒ the video'sΒ Bob's Market connection in a tweet:

We shot the Wild Irish Roses robbery here. Legendary lol https://t.co/MgC10amJRY

The "Wild Irish Roses" video arrives after SminoΒ spent much of 2017 on the road as a supporting act for SZA on her CTRLΒ Tour. In April, he'll head out on theΒ Kouple Drillz Tour with producer Monte Booker as they travel to South Korea, Japan, New Zealand, and Australia. You can see complete dates for that here or below.

As for what's next, Smino told Complex we should expect "all" the smoke. "We made some music in Brazil, we made some music in Jamaica, Atlanta," he said. "We're recording all over the world."Β
