Anyone familiar with the lush sounds coming from Lion Babe knows that a new single from the New York duo should go straight into your Valentine's Day playlist this year.

Since meeting in college, singer Jillian Hervey and producer Lucas Goodman have been creating soulful songs that dance the line between funk, R&B, hip-hop, electronic, and pop. Their first single of 2018 is a sultry track called "Honey Dew" that follows in that tradition, featuring silky vocals from Hervey over funky percussion and delicate keys from Goodman—perfect for the holiday.

At this point in their career, Lion Babe has built a rock-solid collaborative relationship together—an attribute that shines through vividly on "Honey Dew." In a 2017 interview with Albumism, Hervey explained, "You’ve got to be honest about everything. It will go a long way. We’re respectful, and we trust each other. I want him to do the best work he wants to do and can do. I want to push him, and he wants to push me." Sounds like pretty great advice for anyone on Valentine's Day, actually.

You can listen to "Honey Dew" on iTunes/Apple Music now. It's also available on Spotify.

If you missed it, the duo closed out 2017 with a vibrant video for their Moe Moks-assisted "Rockets" single—which you can see below.
