The up-and-coming artist posted a tweet before the performance, saying that appearing on the show was "a dream come true." She wrote: “I AM THE MUSICAL GUEST ON @NBCSNL ON THE 2ND OF FEB!” she wrote. “I have the craziest butterflies rn and I’m nervous just typing this out. A dream come true…someone pinch me!” She was so excited, in fact, that she's tweeted the wrong date: She performed on February 3rd.

The young singer received five nominations for the 2018 BRIT Awards, which will be held on the 21st of this month at the O2 Arena in London. The five nominations place Lipa in the history books as the most nominated woman at the BRIT awards.

Lipa, who began her singing career on YouTube uploading videos of herself covering songs when she was a teen, has a long list of artists she'd like to work with. "I’d love to work with Drake, I’d love to work with Frank Ocean, Jay Z and Kanye," she said in a June interview with Complex. "The list is endless."
